July 2026 Speaker: Spokane County District Therapeutic Courts

Presenters: Tara Carter (Case Manager), Jill Walker (Administrative Support Specialist/Referral Lead), Misty Griffith (Therapeutic Courts Coordinator)

Misty has been in her current role as the Spokane County District Therapeutic Courts Coordinator since 9/16/24. She was previously a Probation Officer with Municipal Probation for 15 years, and also an instructor for the state PO Academy and the Integrated Community Services and Criminal Justice programs within the Community Colleges of Spokane. She also worked in housing and residential life in higher education for 10+ years at Eastern Washington University, the University of Central Arkansas, and Colorado Mesa University. Misty also has work experience as a Juvenile Corrections Officer and Client Advocate.

Her connection to the military is as a daughter of a veteran. Misty’s father is a retired (after 20 years) Army recruiter, artillery specialist, and USO Show Coordinator. She has moved over 10 times due to her father being in the military and lived in military housing for a large part of her life.

Misty and her husband have been married for 25 years (in September of this year), and have 2 children, one son and one daughter.

The team over at the TC Office is dedicated to assisting participants remove barriers, creating opportunities and providing support throughout the program. They truly want to see everyone succeed and encourage you to drop in at the TC Office.

Sheena Hargrave (Superior TCC) and Sarah Thompson (Municipal TCC) will also be joining us for the presentation.
Sheena has been in her current role as the Spokane County Superior Court Therapeutic Courts Coordinator since 10/2024.  Sheena has been in the field of behavioral treatment and social services for over 30 years and has worked in a variety of treatment settings, correctional settings, and was an adjunct instructor the Spokane Falls Community College. Prior to this position, she worked as a Co-Responder and assisted Law Enforcement with Crisis Intervention, resource assistance, and connections to behavioral health services in the Spokane Community.  She is currently licensed as a Substance Use Disorder Professional and a Licensed Agency Affiliated Counselor for Mental Health in Washington State.

Her late grandfather was a retired veteran who served two tours in Iraq with the United States Air Force. 

Sheena has one adult son and two golden retrievers.  She is dedicated to assisting those in their journey of recovery.
